Mr. D.K. Shetty completed his bachelor in Chemical Engineering from the prestigious Manipal Institute of Technology. Post his graduation he worked with Thermax in Pune in their Water Treatment unit for 5 years. In 1983, he moved to Mumbai to start his own business and founded Windsor Refractories Ltd in 1986.
Windsor was one of the largest stockist traders of ACC Refractories & was involved in the installation jobs of Refractories in Refineries, Petrochemical & Fertilizer Industry. His determination, Hard work, perseverance & consistent attitude propelled Windsor to grow within a short span of time. In 1986 Windsor was involved in the export & installation of Refractories in many countries.
In 1993, he started Refractory Engineering & Design especially for Refineries & petrochemical industries. Mr D.K Shetty has pioneered in the field of Refractory Design and has developed breakthrough Refractory designs for Refineries giving permanent solutions to their process problems.
In 1996, he acquired Refractory Shapes Pvt Ltd (RSPL) in Pune to become a manufacturer. RSPL was already established in 1973 and was a well-known manufacturer of Refractory Bricks, Castables, etc.
In 2007, Windsor & RSPL was registered by Engineers India Limited which opened many opportunities to execute OEM projects especially SRU projects. He was instrumental in developing proprietary items for Steel companies namely PCPF blocks, Burner Blocks & Refractory Coating Material which are giving unmatched performance.
In 2020, to further increase the manufacturing capacity, he setup a new factory in Wankaner Gujarat to cater to the vast order book of Refractory Shapes Pvt. Ltd and further expansion is planned. In the last 10 years alone, the annual turnover has increased more than 5 times under his leadership.
Starting from humble beginnings as a trader, Mr. D.K. Shetty has led the company to achieve exponential growth. He has inspired & motivated many working with him to lead the company with consistent hard work, dedication & determination. He is still an invaluable asset in leading the company towards further R&D to introduce new technology in Refractories.
